The Reference Room Pop-Up was the first public programming by Deem Journal.

It was created to be a gathering space for people to gain a deeper understanding of the process, concepts, theories, and inspiration behind each issue of the journal. Curated books, articles, and essays represent a combination of our research, specific mentions from our pages, and recommendations from some of the contributors to our third issue, “Envisioning Equity.” It’s our hope not only to provide context and access to educational tools around Deem’s processes and beliefs but also to create a haven for reflection and repose.

The Reference Room currently lives on through deemjournal.com/referenceroom, with more pop-ups scheduled for the near future.
