Develop Detroit is a coalition of non-profit and for-profit developers that partnered to develop a mixed-use property in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood, The Sugar Hill Historic District, which is an epicenter for Black-led music, culture and visual art. The Freelon celebrates the District’s cultural past while charting a future where innovation, creativity and collaboration can continue to thrive. We were engaged to create a visual branding system that highlighted the rich cultural history of the neighborhood in a vibrant and fresh way.
