Deem is a global platform focused on design as social practice. This approach has allowed us to invite voices beyond traditional industry gatekeepers to engage in dialogue about design futures. The goal is to create more inclusive design futures by examining design as a process of adding value instead of an output. Starting with print in 2019, the brand has expanded to include digital editorial content, experiential activations, and branded products. Since launching, Deem has been awarded the American Institute of Architecture’s (NY) Award for “New Perspectives” (2022), has sold over 10,000 copies of the journal, gained a following of over 16k+ on Instagram, and has partnered with platforms like the Serpentine Gallery and Design Miami.
